The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, established in 2011, is a public–private entity that leads the state’s economic development efforts by providing loans, grants, tax credits, and advisory services to businesses and communities. Governed by an 18-member board and led by CEO Melissa "Missy" Hughes, WEDC supports business growth, innovation, entrepreneurship, and community revitalization. Major initiatives include the $100 million Wisconsin Investment Fund, which combines federal and private dollars to support startups in technology, healthcare, agriculture, and manufacturing.
