VCEDC Women in Business Networking Social
Tuesday , Apr 16, 2024
Kathy Schmitz, Executive Director, Vilas County Economic Development (VCEDC) hosted a networking event for local business women on April 6, 2024 at Cranberry Castle on Cranberry Lake south of Eagle River. The event supported the VCEDC mission to support entrepreneurs, remote workers, and new and expanding businesses.
A committee was formed after newcomer Terri Goldschmidt, a Referral Specialist for Aurora Health Care, inquired about any local women’s networking events. The committee also included Lisa Myszka, CEO & Health Coach of Livin Life Healthy in Land O’ Lakes. Kelly Cooper on the VCEDC Board of Directors is the CEO for LakeTime Management executive home management and personalized concierge services, and asked Cranberry Castle owners David and Katie Reeves about hosting a woman’s event. YES! Kelly greeted the 60 guests in attendance and her LakeTime team provided a wonderful 5-star brunch.
The at-capacity event included attendees from local communities, Vilas County, Oneida County, Forest County, and Watersmeet, Michigan.
Several ladies represented health care in various capacities as well as numerous other businesses including floral and gift shops, restaurants, banking, cranberry production, bakery, resorts, photography, tourism, and copy writing.
Cranberry castle is a uniquely beautiful VRBO facility with amenities ideal for executive retreats, family reunions, vacations and weddings. LakeTime Management provides concierge functions for guests. https://www.cranberrycastlewi.com/
VCEDC is always looking for new host locations for networking events as the scope of local businesses is varied.
Jill Brunstad from Nova Integrated Care in Eagle River won the raffle, a bag of donated items for the event.
Special thanks to LakeTime Management for hosting the event at Cranberry Castle and for the fabulous brunch!
Donations were requested for Vilas County EDC, a non-profit (https://www.vilascountyedc.org/donate/), or a donation of dog or cat treats to support Totally Pawsome and their upcoming pet food pantry.
