Camp Manito-wish Selected as VCEDC Business of the Year

Eagle River, WI., December 13, 2021…. The Vilas County Economic Development Corporation (VCEDC) is pleased to announce Camp Manito-wish as its 2021 Business of the Year.  The announcement was made at the VCEDC Annual Meeting on Friday, December 10, 2021.  Camp Manito-wish was selected among 12 Business of the Month recipients this past year. VCEDC Board Chairman Jim Tuckwell made the announcement:

“We’ve featured a dozen outstanding businesses this past year, and they all bear witness to the opportunity to achieve success in Wisconsin’s Northwoods – so choosing ‘the one’ Business of the Year is challenging, however; one business does stand out,” said Tuckwell.  “Camp Manito-wish is one of our Northwoods 'hidden jems' that many of us may not know much about. And yet, they have served more than 150,000 young people since their founding in 1919, with more than 1,000 young people experiencing Vilas County each summer with opportunities for adults to participate in volunteer and family camp opportunities. In addition, Camp Manito-wish provides outward-bound experiences that are key to setting them apart from other camps. Overall, Camp Manito-wish helps campers grow as individuals and return home with new life and leadership skills.”

Camp Manito-wish CEO Pat Soldan, expressed his deep appreciation to receive the award.  “There are so many deserving businesses in Vilas County and we are honored and thankful to not only be presented this award, but to have the perfect setting in Vilas County and the support of our community in carrying out our mission of enriching the character and leadership development of each person who has a Manito-wish Experience.
